Puerto Galera, a tiny town this side of Oriental Mindoro can boast of a wide variety of marine life. Here you can find vast fields of corals and rare species of fishes. Coral formations ranging from soft to hard corals are indeed wonders of nature!

UNESCO declared Puerto Galera as “Man and Biosphere Reserve” because of its outstanding natural beauty and charm thus, making it as one of the few marine sanctuaries in the world.

Stingrays, clown fish, turtles, sharks are some of our picturesque underwater creatures The possibilities are endless: from wall, wreck, drift and shallow dives. Dive sites and centers are mostly located in Barangay Sabang.

Our Mangyan Irayas are experienced weavers of baskets,jars,trays,and mug holders.It is quite interesting to know they use “nito” (indigenous material)in weaving their items. Aside from farming, this is their another source of livelihood. Get immerse with their culture and tradition and watch their unique creativity transforming.

If you happen to visit our town, make sure you have friendship bands which you can bring as giveaways to friends. T-shirts, shorts, sandos, bags, caps and even beach towels with colorful and attractive Puerto Galera prints are available at beach areas at relatively low prices.. Mortars, lampshades, key chains and other small items made of translucent Puerto Galera marble are also becoming fastsellers.
